Vacuum filtration industrial dehydration technology
Vacuum filtration is a mature industrial dehydration technology. Metso successfully delivered and installed hundreds of rotary vacuum filters, covering a wide range of applications. All rotary vacuum filters operate on a similar principle. The differential pressure between the surface and inside of the drum is applied by vacuum. This differential pressure causes the liquid to pass through the filter surface, while the filter medium captures solid particles and forms a filter cake. When the drum rotates, the filter cake rises above the mud level in the filter tank, and air is sucked in through the filter cake, forcing the liquid to flow out.
